Emma recently completed her PhD in English at the University of Exeter. Her doctoral research explored the relationship between law and literature in the eighteenth century, examining how legal texts shaped the cultural memory of the English countryside. She continues to use historical maps to investigate changing property ownership and boundary lines, with broader interests in historical cartography, digital humanities, and spatial approaches to history.
